Yaacob, Yanti (2009) Isolation of alkaline thermophilic bacteria from Hulu Langat hot springs for protease production / Yanti Yaacob. [Student Project] (Unpublished)

Abstract

The isolation of alkaline protease from thermophile microorganisms, originally isolated from a hot springs collected from the Hulu Langat hot springs is presented in this study and based on the 16sRNA identified the bacteria to be Bacillus sp. which is a gram positive with spore, motile thermophilic bacterium. This bacteria was able to produce a clearing zone on the skim milk and substrate agar which means this bacteria has utilize the lactose presence in that agar. From the nucleotide BLAST this bacteria is related to the Bacillus licheniformis sp.
