EIA is a study to identify, predict, evaluate and communicate information about the impacts on the environment of a proposed project and to detail out the mitigating measures prior to project approval and implementation. During the EIA process, the Environmental Management Plan (hereinafter called ‘EMP’) is a part of EIA studies. The objective of EMP is to make sure the overall project comply with legislation, policy, guidelines and EIA approval conditions. It also provides support to the planning of environmental management of the project, include resource allocation. EMP typically contains a detailed programme for execution of environmental works which is integrated with the overall project programme. This typically includes management of soil erosion, siltation, air, water pollution and hazardous substances. The benefits of EMP is with the management plan, it will increase in environmental awareness of all parties. It also increases in training opportunities.
