Abstract

Polygamy is actually not a male's right created or granted by Islam. Many men believed that polygamy is a God given right enshrined in the Quran. By allowing polygamy, many believe that Islam has found the ideal solution to a men's alleged insatiable sexual deice. Furthermore, many also believe that if a woman allows her husband to take another one, two or three wives, she is assured a place in heaven. A man can never be denied his right towards polygamy but what needs to be stressed is justice if a man intends to practice polygamous marriage, he must actually be fair1 towards his wives and not to forget the sacrifices made by his first wife. It is injustice if he denies the right owed by the other wives other than the first wife as they are also women and wives but what we are concerned with the most is regarding the first wife as there are always injustice be done towards them. What happens today leads us to do this proposal as we actually seek justice for the first wife that actually suffers a lot and is willing to face anything to build her life with her husband and when the husband was stable enough, he tends to forget all what he have gone through with the first wife and starts to build a new family. We never tends to point finger to the men but this is the actual scenario in Malaysian community particularly and what actually hurts is that the husband who actually did this tends to forget and it is forgetting everything even the existence of his first wife.
