Tourism database development using GIS application case study : Bandar Alor Setar / Noor Syafarina Yusoff

Maps are one of the most useful guides for users as a source of information or reference. Complete mapping and information resources are very important to help domestic and foreign tourists to reach their destination. Therefore, this study aims to produce Tourism Database Development using GIS Application, Alor Setar City. It specifially studies on Bandar Alor Setar as the tourism. The data analysis was analyzed to create a database such as ER Model, Spatial data also in Map and the last one is Attribute Data with browser. This is a strategic approach to the planning and management of successful a tourism database. The
research suggest that successful tourism database as are linked with travel agencies to promote the Bandar Alor Setar. The results of the study also suggested that holistic strategic approach is needed for the local authority to successfully managing the tourism database. With a map and a database for tourists, It is also easy, convenient, and fast to find places that are attractions and can use the existing facilities. It is hope that the study can contribute to the improvement of tourism database development using GIS Application in Bandar Alor Setar.
