UiTM Law eNewsletter : Triumph The New Normal (Issues 2)

This document serves as the second issue of the 2020 e-Newsletter for the Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTMLaw), themed "Triumph The New Normal". The issue outlines the faculty's strategic resilience in navigating the educational disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic through the rapid implementation of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) methodologies. Emphasizing the development of "legalpreneurs"—graduates equipped with essential digital and entrepreneurial skills—the faculty successfully exceeded its 2020 performance indicators in research, external grant funding, and graduate employability. The newsletter highlights significant academic milestones, including the conferment of University Academic Awards to distinguished faculty members, the introduction of the Lex Praesta Research Grant to foster internal publication cultures, and extensive international research collaborations with institutions in Indonesia and Thailand. Furthermore, it documents a comprehensive series of webinars aimed at career development, legal research methodology, and ODL best practices. The publication also underscores the faculty's commitment to emerging legal disciplines and social advocacy, prominently featuring advancements by the Child Law Centre and advocating for the academic mainstreaming of Disability Law to protect marginalized communities under the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008.
