The transition into the digital era has precipitated substantial transformations across higher education, shifting pedagogical practices away from teacher-centered paradigms toward interactive, student-centered learning environments. Driven by advancements in high-speed connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and mobile applications, blended learning models have gained prominence as strategic pedagogical frameworks that harmonize the immediacy of in-person instruction with the accessibility and resource diversity of digital platforms. By combining face-to-face collaborative activities with asynchronous and synchronous online modules, blended learning fosters essential twenty-first-century competencies, notably critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative inquiry, while accommodating self paced academic progression. Contextualized within Malaysian higher education, this instructional approach leverages contemporary digital ecosystems including learning management systems, curated video repositories such as YouTube, streamlined administration platforms such as Google Classroom, and gamified formative assessment applications such as Kahoot!. However, realizing the full instructional potential of blended learning requires institutional readiness, robust technological infrastructure, and educator pedagogical-digital competence to ensure coherent alignment between digital tooling and intended course learning outcomes.
