The influx of Generation Z (Gen Z) into higher education has generated profound pedagogical challenges for universities traditionally reliant on conventional, lecture-based instructional paradigms. Characterised as digital natives with high technological fluency, compressed attention spans, and an acute preference for pragmatic, career-aligned competencies, Gen Z learners demand dynamic educational environments that bridge conceptual learning with workforce readiness. This paper examines the imperative for transforming higher education curricula through innovative, student-centred pedagogies—specifically experiential learning, multimedia integration, and technology-enhanced collaboration. In alignment with 21st-century workforce demands identified by global frameworks, these methodologies cultivate essential non-cognitive and analytical competencies, including adaptive problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaborative teamwork. By departing from passive rote memorization toward interactive, real-world application, higher education institutions can effectively sustain student engagement, elevate knowledge retention, and ensure graduates are resiliently equipped for rapidly evolving technological and professional landscapes.
