Department of Ophthalmology Champions Eye Health at L’Occitane Malaysia’s 7th Race for Vision initiative. Formed through a multi-sectoral partnership between academic clinical departments and corporate philanthropy, this event aims to advance community eye care awareness, vision screening, and preventable blindness prevention. Evaluation of the event highlights three primary operational outcomes: (1) Enhancement of Public Eye Health Literacy and Early Detection, bringing clinical expertise directly into community settings to identify refractive errors and ocular pathologies; (2) Fostering Corporate-Academic Synergies, establishing a sustainable funding and advocacy model between medical professionals and commercial entities; and (3) Mobilization of Community Health Promotion, encouraging active public participation and physical wellness through charitable racing initiatives. Overall, this collaboration serves as an effective model for expanding outreach, strengthening preventive ophthalmological care, and combating avoidable vision loss in the population.
