Abstract

This paper investigates the relationship between self efficacy and anxiety among student athletes at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia who face combined academic and athletic demands. A survey based study was conducted with one hundred thirty student athletes using established tools to measure self efficacy and generalized anxiety. The analysis revealed that a majority of the participants possessed moderate to high levels of self efficacy with over half falling into the moderate category and nearly half demonstrating high levels. These results indicate that most student athletes feel generally capable of navigating challenges and performing effectively under pressure providing a baseline to help guide targeted support programs.
