This excerpt explains that football requires rapid accelerations sprints and quick changes of direction where explosive strength is considered key to performance although past findings remain inconsistent. To clarify these connections a study evaluated twenty six male football players from UiTM Negeri Sembilan using the standing broad jump for explosive strength the thirty meter sprint for speed and a ten meter shuttle test for agility. The results showed a weak and statistically insignificant relationship between explosive strength and thirty meter sprint time. The authors suggest that while explosive power helps initial acceleration overall sprinting speed over longer distances depends heavily on running mechanics and neuromuscular coordination rather than explosive strength alone.
