Abstract

Warm up exercises are widely acknowledged as essential for sports participation because they enhance muscle readiness increase blood flow improve flexibility and lower injury risks. In recreational sports settings these practices often depend on individual intent and perceived importance rather than structured routines. Although warm ups generally foster physical performance by improving physiological and psychological readiness research remains sparse on how warm up intention relates to perceived physical performance especially among Malaysian university athletes. To address this gap this quantitative cross sectional study recruited three hundred sixty actively sporting students at Universiti Teknologi MARA Seremban. Participants completed a modified self report questionnaire measuring warm up intention and perceived performance on a Likert scale. Using JAMOVI software the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis with statistical significance established at a p value less than zero point zero five to determine the relationship between warm up intention and perceived physical performance
