Abstract

Severe obesity represents a chronic and progressive condition that substantially contributes to respiratory, metabolic, and upper airway disorders. While body mass index (BMI) is routinely recorded in primary care settings, obesity is often not addressed with the same prioritisation as other chronic diseases. This case illustrates how delayed initiation of structured obesity treatment can perpetuate multimorbidity and frequent healthcare utilisation.
