Abstract

This quantitative study evaluated the acute effects of lower-limb foam rolling on performance metrics among varsity football players at UiTM Negeri Sembilan. The intervention produced a statistically significant improvement in linear twenty-meter sprint times with a large effect size, whereas agility performance showed no meaningful change. These findings suggest that while targeted self-myofascial release serves as an effective warm-up strategy for enhancing linear acceleration, it does not immediately improve multidirectional movement capabilities in athletes.
