Abstract
An umbrella review examining artificial intelligence chatbots in healthcare reveals mixed clinical outcomes, with positive impacts noted for treatment compliance and depressive symptoms, alongside high initial user satisfaction despite poor long-term retention. Despite these promising signals, widespread adoption remains hindered by inconsistent engagement, technical limitations, uneven evaluation standards, and limited integration into care processes and electronic health records.
