Ankle sprains represent one of the most frequent sports injuries in high-risk activities like futsal, basketball, and netball, where athletic recovery depends on both physical rehabilitation and psychological readiness to return to play. This study evaluated short term psychological confidence levels across four weeks among twelve college athletes recovering from non-surgical acute ankle sprains. Using the Injury Psychological Readiness to Return to Sport Scale administered weekly, researchers tracked variations in psychological readiness and analyzed its connection to return to sport status. Repeated measures analysis of variance was applied to assess confidence trajectory over time, addressing an important gap in holistic rehabilitation frameworks for university student athletes in Malaysia.
