Abstract

Intragastric balloon insertion is an effective intervention for weight reduction in severe obesity. However, the quality of weight loss, specifically the preservation of lean body mass, is critical for long-term metabolic health. This case report highlights the development of significant sarcopenia following the procedure and underscores the necessity of body composition monitoring to guide post-intervention therapy.
