Empowering communities through STEM

The significant achievement of a research team from the College of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)—led by Professor Ir. Dr. Ahmad Sabirin Zoolfakar alongside team members Ir. Ts. Dr. Rozina Abdul Rani, Ir. Ts. Dr. Maizatul Zolkapli, Ir. Ts. Dr. Azrif Manut, Norhayati Soin, Sushthitha Menin N V Visvanathan, and Hazian Mamat—for securing an international grant worth RM 121,000 from the IEEE Electron Device Society. The funded project, titled *"STEM4FUN: Promoting STEM to Underserved Communities,"* focuses on bridging educational disparities by introducing interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning initiatives to marginalized and underrepresented groups. Recognized by the Dean of Research and Innovation and the broader academic community at UiTM, this prestigious international award underscores the institution's ongoing commitment to community empowerment, social inclusivity, and the practical application of engineering leadership to inspire future talent in STEM fields.
