Abstract

Football demands repeated sprints, jumps, and rapid direction changes that subject growing adolescent athletes to significant physical stress, making effective recovery essential for managing fatigue and sustaining explosive performance. Although sports massage methods like lighter Swedish massage and stronger deep-tissue massage are widely applied to reduce muscle soreness and improve flexibility, limited research compares their relative efficacy in youth sports contexts. Therefore, this study examined the effects of Swedish massage versus deep-tissue massage on recovery and explosive performance parameters in adolescent football players.
