Abstract

Obesity is a chronic, relapsing disease and is a major contributor to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular morbidity. Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) have demonstrated significant benefits in weight reduction and glycemic control. However, real-world data revealed marked inter-individual variability in treatment response, particularly in patients with severe obesity, long-standing T2DM, and advanced insulin resistance.
