Industrial training is one of the most meaningful phases in a student's academic journey because it allows students to step outside the classroom and experience the real working environment. Before starting my internship, I was honestly nervous because I did not know what to expect from the industry. I kept thinking about whether I could adapt to the working culture, communicate professionally, and perform technical tasks correctly. However, as time passed, I realized that industrial training is not only about learning technical work, but also about discovering our own potential, improving confidence, and preparing ourselves for the future.
I underwent my industrial training at Flextronics in the software department, where I was exposed to various technical tasks, system setups, troubleshooting activities, and teamwork-based operations. Throughout the internship period, I learned many valuable lessons that could never be fully understood through lectures or laboratory classes alone. Every task given to me required focus, patience, communication, and responsibility .
This reflective article shares my experiences and lessons learned during industrial training, especially regarding technical skills development, workplace professionalism, teamwork, and personal growth as a future engineer.
During the first week of internship, all new interns attended an orientation session conducted by the Human Resources department. We were required to submit documents, take photographs for staff identification cards, and collect safety equipment such as safety shoes and smocks before entering the production area. Although the process looked simply, it made me realize how seriously the company prioritizes safety, discipline, and professionalism.
