Abstract
Learning theory provides a framework for understanding how knowledge is acquired, processed, and retained across three primary perspectives: behaviourism (repetition and reinforcement), cognitivism (information processing and memory), and constructivism (experiential and active learning). By understanding these approaches, students can identify their preferred learning styles, leverage intrinsic motivation, and apply evidence-based study strategies such as spaced practice and active recall—to optimize comprehension and improve academic performance.
