Abstract

This internship report has been prepared to fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Marketing programme at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sabah. The report documents my industrial training undertaken at Sedafiat Sdn Bhd, a company that provides Hospital Support Services to government healthcare facilities throughout Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan. The internship was carried out from 2 March 2026 to 14 August 2026. The purpose of the industrial training was to provide practical exposure to a professional working environment while allowing me to apply the knowledge and concepts learned throughout my academic studies. It also provided an opportunity to strengthen my understanding of business operations, particularly in procurement management within the healthcare support services industry. This report consists of several sections that describe the company’s background, organizational structure and the functions of the Procurement Vendor Logistics and Inventory (PVLI) Department. It also presents a reflection on my industrial training experience, highlighting the practical knowledge, professional skills and workplace competencies developed throughout the internship period. On the other hand, the report includes a SWOT analysis of the Procurement Biomedical Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Unit. The analysis identifies key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats observed during the industrial training, followed by practical recommendations that may contribute to improving procurement processes, supplier management and operational efficiency. Overall, the industrial training has provided valuable learning experiences that enhanced both my academic knowledge and professional development. It strengthened my understanding of procurement practices, improved my confidence in working within a professional environment and reinforced the importance of continuous learning, effective communication and ethical responsibility in supporting organizational success.
