Abstract

CSC339, also known as Industrial Training, is a course offered by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) that is compulsory to complete for all semester 5 students in Diploma of Computer Science program, with a fixed duration of 6 months. Furthermore, Students are required to take part in real working environment with an IT-related job scope as a prerequisite for students to graduate. Therefore, Each student will have an academic supervisor assigned to them for evaluation and monitoring purposes throughout the internship period. The purpose of internship is to elevate student’s classroom knowledge and skills in a specific profession. At the same time, it provides opportunity for student to apply what they have learn in classroom in real-world situations, enable students to gain hands-on experience, and amplifies student’s understanding towards the operations and professional practices within the industry. Lastly, Student’s are assessed based on their written logbook, final report, and presentation as part of the overall grading assessment. On the other hand, the objective of industrial training includes exposing student to real working environments that are related to their field of study. Other than that, promote effective communication and teamwork through participation in professional environment. Moreover, facilitate student’s increase student’s readiness and competitiveness in the job market by providing industry exposure and hands-on experience. Lastly, enhance student’s technical competence and problem-solving abilities. Industrial training acts as a bridge between classroom learning and practical practices. throughout their diploma studies, students have learned theorical concepts of programming, networking, database management, and developing a system. It is important for students to get hands-on practices of related courses and how these concepts are interconnected to real-life problems. Therefore, industrial training allows students to experience how it actually applied in professional settings.
