The objectives, structure, and academic significance of the Virtual International Language Competition (VILC) 2021, organized by the Academy of Language Studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Johor, in collaboration with Universitas Lancang Kuning (UNILAK) and Persatuan Pemuisi Nasional (PEMUISI). Held from September 15 to October 15, 2021, the virtual competition aimed to empower undergraduate students by enhancing their creative and critical thinking skills across four primary languages: English, Bahasa Melayu, Arabic, and Mandarin. Through diverse competitive platforms—including online essay writing, poem recitation, e-poster design, and product pitching—VILC 2021 provided an inclusive international forum for foundation, diploma, and bachelor’s degree students to demonstrate linguistic proficiency and digital communication skills, fostering cross-cultural exchange and multi-lingual academic development within a digital framework.
