Abstract

This paper presents an innovative design of a prototype light sensor for the office. The tittle of this project is Automatic Light Sensor. This project suited with the theme ‘Smart Campus’. The benefits of this project are to solve the problem that students always face it in their daily lives at the campus. The problem is students always wondering whether lecturer were in the office or not. The second problem is student & staff also always confused by the signboard that shows us whether the lecturer is in the room which is “ADA/TIADA” sign. This is because the signboard is not accurate. So, we purposely created this project which is more accurate than the sign to solve all those problems. In this project, we used simple and reasonable component. This is to make sure that the cost must be affordable and it is really efficient. The main component that we used is Arduino UNO, LED Light, LCD display and PIR sensor. Those entire components were easy to find. It is because in case of something broke down or did not work we can get it easily. This ‘Automatic Light Sensor’ project is a simple project. When there were person in the office the sensor will detect the motion in the room and the light will turn on green and when there is no person which is no motion the light will turn red. The led will display Lecturer available when there is someone in the room. While, the led will display Lecturer not available detected when there is no people in the room. It will make the student easy to recognized whether the lecturer were in the room or not.
