Abstract

One of the most crucial indicators of a student's learning quality is concentration. Students, particularly university students, pay less attention in class as their level rises. Concentration is relative, and it can be enhanced and increased by changing some of the current components, and students' active engagement due to pleasant interaction with instructors leads to more concentration and better learning, in addition to motivation. Distractions come from both external sources, and internal sources. The significance of focus as a learning process is emphasised. However, it is impossible for one person to be aware of and pay attention to everything at the same time. This is substantially more difficult in school/university settings, especially when deliberate learning is involved. By surveying Faculty of Business Administration students at UITM Kedah on their distractions, the researchers discovered that university students are easily distracted by a variety of circumstances. This research looks into how technology, the classroom environment, and emotion may all distract students from their academics. The researchers suggest a deeper understanding of all the distractions that students may encounter during class.
