Abstract

Construction work is a very hazardous and complicated job. Some construction site jobs are building houses, roads, tree forts, workplaces, and repairing and maintaining infrastructures. All of those works include many hazardous tasks and conditions such as working with height, excavation, noise, dust, power tools, and equipment. The most common fatalities are caused by the fatal four which are falls, being struck by an object, electrocutions, and being caught in between two objects (Goh et al., 2016). Accident on the construction site is very common nowadays. There are many factors that cause the accident on construction site and it increases year by year. Some of the factors are lack of supervision, lack of adherence to safe work technique, failure to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and failure to comply with the safe use of tools, vehicles, and machines. (Hota and Szostak, 2017; Ayob et al., 2018). Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is the key to personal safety at the worker's level. Often overlooked and mostly considered as being only a minor player in the overall site safety, PPE can be a significant determining factor between an accident and safety (Farooqui et al., 2009). Therefore, this research aims to determine the usage of PPE in a high rise project.
