Abstract
The energy usage of street lighting ill not fully controlled. It Is on from 7p.m to 7a.m with same brightness. This paper presents an energy saving electronic ballast with passive and active power filter. The power usage is divided into 3 duration zone by controlling the modulation index in PWM generator. Passive and active power filter is incorporated in the circuit to reduce the harmonics. The duty cycle in an active power filter can also be controlled to vary the output power. The simulation is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink
