Abstract

This article documents an experiential academic excursion by 61 Bachelor of Architecture (CFAP243) students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam to Rimbun Dahan, the 14-acre architectural sanctuary and home of Professor Emeritus Ar. Hijjas Kasturi and Pn. Angela Hijjas. Organized under the AAA450 Design I course and curated by studio coordinator En. Ahmad Zharif Ahmad Zahir, the visit on April 14, 2025, aimed to bridge theoretical architectural concepts with site-based, tactile, and ecological reflection. Led by Pn. Angela Hijjas and Ar. Hijjas Kasturi, the programme immersed students in tropical modernism, native landscape design, traditional timber preservation, and reflective sketching. This initiative exemplifies UiTM's commitment to experiential-led pedagogy, cross-generational knowledge exchange, and holistic architectural education.
