Report on industrial training at Tamaco Group of Plantation Lahad Datu, Sabah

This report is all about our practical training that takes 14 weeks from 10th June 2013 until 13th September 2013. This Tamaco Group of Plantation has many divisions, so in my industrial I'm located at division Sungei Segama and Sungai Mangis. In division Sungei Segama have 1 nursery that is Tapak Semaian Sawit Sungei Segama. For the first month, I'm covered the Sg. Mangis division from the whole parts of maintenance, harvesting and ect.this division have 1026 acres that planted with oil palm. The palm planted on 1993 and 1994, so now the palm age is 20 years and some palm is 19 years. Second month, I'm located at nursery side. This nursery gives me learned new thing that i cannot aspect. Many problem that I'm must solve such as, the water supply not enough to watering the seedling because the drought season and avoid from the flooded area. This give me more matured to solve the problem and learn to think with matured. Lastly, at division Sungei Segama. This division has 1088 acres that planted with oil palm). This division has 3 age of palm that is, planted at 1993, 1994 and 2009. The new replanting has 400 acres that planted at 2009, so I'm also learned how to manage the immature oil palm. The supply palms also done and all of the maintenance I covered.
