The soil glow-up: turning agricultural "trash" into organic gold

Abstract

To mitigate the soil degradation, acidification, and microbial loss caused by chemical fertilizers, sustainable biofertilizers offer a viable alternative by converting agricultural waste into valuable soil inputs. Innovations like BioRhizo Brick and SmartGro BioBoost apply this circular economy approach by using aerobic fermentation to transform underutilized spent mushroom waste, banana leaves, and coconut husks into bio-inputs enriched with native *Rhizobium* strains (PGPR) that enhance crop productivity sustainably.
