Industrial training report at Lembaga Industri Getah Sabah Kuala Tomani, Tenom

Skim Penempatan Getah Kuala Tomani(SPGKT) Lembaga Industri Getah Sabah (LIGS) is located in Kuala Tomani that is an hour drives from Tenom town. SPGKT have witnessed 5 managerial change since 1978 that is the year it was formed. The Skim that houses 70 settlers and each one of the settlers were given 6ha of land that can only be planted with rubber tree. SPGKT owns about 45000 hectares of land and some of it were contracted with certain agreement and loans. The current manager is Mr. Repin Sungkit was the staff in 1978 and now a senior manager of SPGKT. SPGKT ows 30 vehicle including backhoe, land cruiser, tractor, tanker, grade and showel. The vehicle is actively used in the block for development and other activities. The manager, and assistant manager were given their own vehicle to ease their work related activities. SPGKT have two asisstant manager because there are two division in SPGKT and each assistant manager were given their own responsibility either about the purchasingor the NKEA or National Key Economic Area. SPGKT are one of the branches that does NKEA since 2012. About 80% of the scheme is being replanted because most of the matured rubber tree is no longer productice of producing raw latex.
