This Professorial Lecture outlines sustainable pavement strategies designed to address the evolving challenges of highway infrastructure in Malaysia. With increasing traffic loads and environmental impacts, conventional pavement practices face limitations regarding long-term durability, life-cycle costs, and ecological footprint. This presentation explores the integration of green technology applications in pavement engineering, including the utilization of recycled materials, eco-friendly additives such as modified bitumen and emulsions, and advanced pavement recycling techniques. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on cost-effective preventive maintenance practices aimed at extending pavement service life while minimizing carbon emissions. The proposed strategic framework aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), offering practical insights for road authorities and industry practitioners to construct resilient and environmentally sustainable road networks in Malaysia.
