Abstract
PIan conjunction with the Malaysia Greening Campaign 2.0 and International Day of Forests 2026 at the State Level of Perlis, a podcast session titled “Sustaining Forests: A Shared Responsibility” was organised as a platform to promote knowledge sharing and environmental awareness, particularly on forest conservation. The session discussed the importance of protecting the nation’s natural resources, the role of forest ecosystems, and collective efforts required to ensure environmental sustainability for future generations. The invited panel members, including Puan Rosnani Nazri (NGO Coordinator, GRASS Malaysia), Encik Awang Shaffie bin Awang Ahmadni (Director of Perlis Forestry Department), and Ts. Zamzila Erdawati Zainol (UGC Coordinator, UiTM Perlis Branch), shared valuable perspectives on sustainability challenges and green initiatives. The podcast also encouraged students to recognise that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility requiring active participation from all levels of society. Through an interactive and engaging platform, sustainability messages were effectively delivered to younger generations. The programme involved approximately 500 students from UiTM Perlis Branch, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), and the Institute of Training, Ministry of Health Malaysia (Nursing), Kangar. The initiative reflects the commitment of the Perlis State Government, the Perlis Forestry Department, and higher education institutions in strengthening national greening efforts and promoting forest conservation awareness.
