Students from Semester 5 of the Sustainable Marine Technology Programme (AS256), UiTM Perlis Branch, successfully organised the “Go Green MARES 2026” programme at Tanjung Pandan Beach, Langkawi, Kedah. The beach clean-up activity aimed to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining coastal cleanliness and protecting the marine environment. Participants collected various types of waste, including plastic bottles, plastic bags, food packaging, beverage cans, glass bottles, polystyrene, ropes, old fishing nets, and other discarded materials. The activity contributed to improving the cleanliness of the beach while providing students with meaningful experiences in environmental conservation. Beyond environmental benefits, the programme strengthened teamwork, cooperation, and students’ sense of responsibility towards protecting natural resources. The initiative reflects UiTM’s commitment to promoting sustainability awareness among students through hands-on community and environmental activities. “Clean Beach, Sustainable Ocean.”
