The world green and sustainability summit

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sabah Branch participated in the World Green Summit 2026 held at the BoardRoom B, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The summit, themed “Advancing Planet, People, Prosperity and Partnership”, brought together international delegates and sustainability experts to discuss global environmental challenges and green development initiatives. The summit featured discussions on key issues including greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, pollution mitigation, green economy, environmental policies, climate diplomacy, natural heritage conservation, and blue economy development. International representatives from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia shared insights on sustainability strategies, collaborative solutions, and future green initiatives. The event was officiated by The Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor, and attended by The Governor of Sabah, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr.) Musa bin Haji Aman, who presented the World Green Sustainability Excellence Awards. UiTM Sabah Branch was represented by Dr. Mohd Faizal Achoi, UGC Coordinator of UiTM Sabah Branch, together with UGC committee members Ch.M. Dr. Rafidah Selaman, Dr. Jain Yassin, and Dr. Ajis Lepit. The participation highlights UiTM’s commitment towards promoting sustainability, green innovation, and global collaboration in addressing environmental challenges.
