Abstract

Gold zakat, among the various types of zakat, is mandated by regulations for Muslim individuals. However, statistics indicate that gold zakat collection ranks lowest compared to other forms, such as income zakat and business zakat, which are based on measurable income or profits. Unlike these forms, gold zakat pertains more to individual ownership and does not require declaration. Consequently, the responsibility for paying gold zakat lies with the individual's own awareness and sense of obligation. To enhance awareness and accountability regarding gold zakat among Muslim individuals, the Gold Zakat Enlightening Apps were developed. This initiative stemmed from instances where individuals who had not paid zakat confessed their lack of knowledge about zakat types beyond zakat fitr. The primary goal of this product is to disseminate information about gold zakat, covering its conditions, payment procedures, and relevant scenarios. This aims to elevate the level of awareness and accountability among Muslim individuals. To identify factors influencing this awareness, a questionnaire was distributed, revealing that attitude, religious obligation, knowledge, and subjective norms are among the contributing factors. Through this product, awareness can be cultivated by providing informative content to the audience.
