Abstract
Tenunan II is a contemporary orchestral work composed by Prof. Dr. Tazul Izan Tajuddin of the Faculty of Music, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Inspired by the concept of weaving, the composition combines Malaysian cultural elements with contemporary orchestral writing. Premiered by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2002 after winning the First Prize at the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award, the work exemplifies the international recognition of Malaysian contemporary music and UiTM's contribution to the field of music composition.
