Determinants of international tourism in East Asia and Pacific

The study investigated the determinants of International Tourism in the context of East Asia and Pacific countries. The period of the study covers 20 years which from 1995 to 2014. In addition, the 17 countries was selected from East Asia and Pacific region. Thus, the study used the secondary data that obtained from World Bank databases and the natural disaster databases (EM-DAT). On the other hand, the study applying the panel data analysis which is fixed effect model. Furthermore, the result shows that GDP and inflation have positive relationship while natural disaster, exchange rate and population have negative effect on number of tourist arrival. Besides, the study reveals that GDP, exchange rate and population has significant effect whereas number of natural disaster and inflation show the insignificant effect on number of tourist arrival.
