Industrial training refers to a program which aims to supervise training within a specified timeframe. Industrial training is a superlative runaway for undergraduates to grasp the hand-on experience provided before entering the competitive world of the profession. Through industrial training, theoretical knowledge acquired from lectures can be applied and practiced then, thereby experience can be acquired. Apart from fostering good relationship amongst university and industries, we also benefited from the exposure to the most up-to-date information in an increasingly competitive world of industry. Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology University Technology MARA (UiTM) has made industrial training II (FPA 310) compulsory for every part 4 Diploma in Planting Industry management. Students were required to undergo industrial training for five weeks on the agency we have chosen. During this period, student will be evaluated with the respective preceptors on the attribute that listed on the survey from that provided by the Industrial Training Coordinator. Usually student will be evaluated based on their skills, working performance, punctually and others. Basically, the major purpose of industrial training is to exposure the student with real working environment and activities that before this they only being taught by theoretical knowledge in the class. But with this industrial training, they have chance to see various kind of activities by their own self so that they can explore more about the sector and improve their soft skill that will give them in the future. For this industrial training, I was attaching to undergo my industrial training at government agency, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) Keningau. The reason I am choosing this agency is, MPOB is the only one agency that control oil palm industry in Malaysia especially for those smallholders that really need guidance from government.
