Abstract

Kedah Medical Centre (KMC) is a one-stop private specialist hospital offering comprehensive medical care for individuals seeking treatment, fostering an environment of healing and comfort. A new online system is required as currently, patients must physically visit the hospital to make an appointment which may be burdensome. In addition, the counter service only operates during office hours. Thus, KMC-I Appointment aims to streamline appointment booking at (KMC) by transitioning from a manual to a user-friendly web-based platform and accessible using a QR code. Patients can access the KMC website and patients can seamlessly schedule appointments with their preferred doctors across various departments. This innovative system not only enhances convenience but also mitigates the need for physical visits, reducing patient burden and improving overall efficiency. Through the website, patients are allowed to select their desired department and doctor, based on availability and personal preferences. Admins play a pivotal role in maintaining doctor schedules and ensuring smooth appointment management. By updating the system regularly, admins guarantee accurate information and timely confirmations. This transformative approach addresses several challenges inherent in the current system, including miscommunications, long wait times, and privacy concerns. The appointment system offers a user-friendly interface, enhancing patient experience while streamlining administrative processes. Moreover, it provides a secure environment for sensitive patient data, safeguarding confidentiality and instilling trust in KMC's commitment to patient welfare.
