Abstract

The increasing number of car and passenger safety issues poses a significant concern for both drivers and passengers. One of the major issues is when children are accidentally left in cars, a problem that can lead to severe injuries or fatalities due to heatstroke. To address this issue, a car security app that uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology can be used. The objective of this project is to develop a child safety kit connected with mobile application, to prevent unintentional child abandonment in cars. The safety kit, NakSafe aims to be an innovative child safety kit for cars. The kit consists of a car seat cover equipped with Force Sensitive Resistors (FSRs) connected to an Arduino Uno microcontroller. Complementary to the hardware components, a mobile application developed using Flutter will serve as the user interface and control center for the safety kit. This system communicates with a custom-built mobile application via Bluetooth, sending alerts if a child is left in the car unattended. Overall, the expected result of this app is to improve child safety. This app aims to create a safer driving environment for devoted parents with hectic lifestyle.
