Ethicathon 2026

Making History at ETHICATHON26! We are pleased to share highlights from ETHICATHON26, held on 4-5 June 2026 at ILD Enstek. Organized by UiTM REC and JPI in collaboration with ILD, this first-of-its-kind program promoted critical understanding of research ethics within the UiTM ecosystem. The event gathered 70 participants from 36 PTJs nationwide, including Faculty and Branch Research Committees as well as Ethics Review Committees. Participants answered 25 SBAQS and 20 case-based scenarios, with performance evaluated alongside broader engagement in the ethics ecosystem. The highlight was the Grand Debate, featuring the top four PTJs discussing key issues such as honorariums, technology, productivity, and Fundamental vs Practical Research. The final round was judged by a panel of experts, with additional scoring from live and physical audiences, reaching 1,400 online viewers. We proudly announce the Faculty of Pharmacy as the Grand Champion of ETHICATHON26, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahezwan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. John.
