IBSD, benchmarking visit to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

IBSD, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) conducted a benchmarking visit to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Pagoh Campus on 10 April 2026. The visit aimed to explore best practices in biodiversity system development and management, particularly through the Biodiversity Data Integration for Research Assets (BIDARA) system and related biodiversity repository facilities at UTHM. A key focus of the visit was a knowledge-sharing session with representatives of the UTHM UNESCO Chair, serving as a reference for IBSD's efforts in exploring the establishment of a UNESCO Chair in biodiversity and sustainability. The meeting throughout the visit was chaired by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Noor Azura Awang, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology (FAST). It was also attended by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latiff Abu Bakar, Deputy Dean (Research, Development and Publication), Prof. Dr. Jailani Md Yunos, UNESCO Chair Holder, and Prof. Ts. Dr. Lai Chee Sern, Deputy Director of MyRIVEТ, along with other faculty members. It is hoped that this engagement will further strengthen strategic collaboration towards more sustainable biodiversity development.
