Abstract

Kaffir Lime Shampoo is innovated based on hair and scalp problems faced by almost every woman in Malaysia such as itchy scalp, dandruff and hair loss. By using kaffir lime essence which has many efficacies in addition to fresh smell, easily available at a cheaper price and more environmentally friendly. This shampoo consists of 80% essential oil of lime which has concentrated liquid texture with a fresh scent. Produced homemade with the main natural ingredients, namely kaffir lime essence extract, mint leaves extract and glycerin produced without the use of chemicals. Vitamin pro B5 is used as an additive to soften hair while reducing hair loss. This shampoo is able to restore smelly and itchy scalp to come back fresh, overcome various hair problems and treat the scalp at the lower cost. Kaffir Lime Shampoo is a combination of three function in one product, namely cleansing and removing dandruff, treating and refreshing. The production of this shampoo includes questionnaire methods to obtain information and feedback, population and sampling as well as research instruments. This can ensure the level of effectiveness of the shampoo in solving hair and scalp problems. Customers feedback are very good. It can raise awareness on benefits and safe use of natural ingredients. Product development such as logo sketches, stickers, packaging, design and size to make it more attractive and easier for travelling, analysis of materials used and cost estimates are made in detail. Kaffir Lime Shampoo is an innovation to existing products. In addition to fruit of kaffir lime, it’s leaves can also be commercialized to treat hair as a shampoo and hair tonic if scientific research is done. This innovation product is more environmentally friendly and able to maximize the potential of kaffir lime in beauty and health products.
