Fire safety system in heritage office buildings at George Town, Penang

Fire is a topic that is always being neglected same as heritage buildings are being abandoned. Fire is the one of the horrific or tragic incident that could lead to dead and total destruction of the building. A heritage building is a listed building of historical that had a sentimental value itself. Referring to this research, the aim of this research is to analyses the functionality of fire safety system of heritage offices buildings and propose the strategic planning in improving the fire safety system in heritage offices buildings at George Town, Penang. While the purpose and the objective of this research are to identify the type of the fire safety system in heritage buildings, to determine the level of fire safety system in the heritage buildings and lastly are to find the solution to improving the fire safety system. This research aims is to analysis the functionality of the fire safety system in office building. To achieve this objective, data of this research will be collecting through literature review and data analysis. The process of the data collection involved obtaining primary data from the questionnaire survey at the selected buildings cases. The findings of the study are able to improve the fire safety system in heritage buildings.
