Occupational safety and health implementation in construction industry: Perak state

Construction industry is very important in achieving a developed nation for a country. The construction industry is a very dangerous industry. The performance of the industry in occupational safety and health is very poor. The main aim of this research is to study the impact of occupational safety and health in construction. Objectives of this research to determine the type of site safety provided and required by DOSH to the worker in construction site, to identify the issues on occupational safety and health in the construction industry and to determine the implication regarding the occupational safety and health on the construction project. To achieve the objectives, data research will be collective through quantitative method which by distributing questionnaires to the contractor grade 7 (G7) in Perak. All data has being analyses using quantitative analysis using statistical package for social science (SPSS) software. For this research the total population is 241 number of contractor grade 7 (G7). Researcher pick only 148 number of population to distribute the questionnaire. Researcher have receive 84 questionnaire from the respondent. The result explain that, mostly company have provided hard hats, foot protection, hand protection, and face or eyes protection to the worker in construction site. In addition, the result also show that trapped by something collapse is the main issues in the construction site.
