Cohu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

This report covers the six months of my industrial training at Cohu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Melaka. I was placed in a Spares department intern starting September 22, 2025 until March 6, 2026. The internship exposed me to how the semiconductor industry operates on a day-to-day basis, and the various functions as a professional in that industry. It was largely my job during my internship to get shipping manifests in-house and monitor their progress. This involved supplying pick slips to the Spare Parts Officer, a day-by-day scan of the pick slips, and validating and producing invoices to enable the shipping and delivery of spare parts. Besides that, as we know from the following problems that accuracy and cooperation lead to the effective management of spare parts and the supply chain. Moreover, this report briefly describes Cohu, Inc., which is presently established as a world leader in semiconductor testing and inspection equipment. A SWOT analysis regarding my industrial training identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Cohu is a leading tech hub with strong technological advantages and a strong market position, but it also faces a range of internal and external challenges. There is a wide range of recommendations to minimize the weaknesses and threats identified during training exposure. These suggestions are aimed at ensuring the company will survive. In addition, it was a great industry for me and enriched my professional and personal development. It truly made me a better communicator, a better team player, which also helped me to learn to be a team player in the mind that had a collaborative attitude by working everyday with the departments that were outside my own.
