Abstract
This academic report documents and evaluates the competitive frameworks, research methodologies, and institutional benchmarks demonstrated by the Faculty of Pharmacy at the 9th Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA) National Pharmacy Research Competition (NPRC) 2026. National research symposiums serve as critical crucibles for validating undergraduate and postgraduate scientific inquiries, establishing peer-reviewed performance indicators, and accelerating translational medicine initiatives. To assess the academic drivers behind the faculty’s championship achievements, this report analyzes the winning research submissions across three primary clinical and scientific tracks: (1) Novel Drug Delivery Systems and Nanomedicine, evaluating presentations centered on targeted lipid nanoparticle formulation and biopolymer drug-carrier optimization; (2) Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacoepidemiology, analyzing empirical data models that assess medication reconciliation protocols, adverse drug event tracking, and patient-reported outcome measures; and (3) Phytochemistry and Natural Product Discovery, investigating molecular-docking assays and bioactivity profiling of regional ethnomedicinal flora against metabolic syndromes. The evaluation highlights how a structured institutional ecosystem—integrating advanced faculty mentorship, early lab-immersion protocols, and presentation-defense training—directly correlated with superior academic scores and peer recognition. Ultimately, this document provides an applied pedagogical framework and competitive blueprint for pharmacy educators, academic research directors, and student affairs administrators looking to cultivate institutional research excellence and scientific leadership on national platforms.
