Abstract

This academic report documents and analyzes the instructional design, pedagogical frameworks, and empirical outcomes of a targeted STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) community outreach program executed at SMK Kuala Selangor. Early-stage secondary education represents a critical psychological window wherein students form long-term academic identities and career aspirations; however, traditional rote-learning curricula frequently fail to stimulate intrinsic motivation in technical fields. To bridge this pedagogical gap, this institutional intervention deployed a series of highly interactive, experiential learning modules evaluated across three primary educational axes: (1) Applied Robotics and Computational Logic, instructing students in block-based programming paradigms and micro-controller hardware integration to foster algorithmic problem-solving; (2) Green Chemistry and Environmental Science, utilizing localized ecological samples to conduct hands-on water filtration and renewable energy assays that emphasize regional sustainability; and (3) Inquiry-Based Mentorship and Social Cognitive Modeling, pairing secondary students with university researchers to dismantle stereotype threats and enhance STEM self-efficacy. Quantitative and qualitative assessment diagnostics gathered from pre- and post-intervention instruments indicate a statistically significant surge in technical interest, collaborative confidence, and intentions to pursue tertiary science tracks. Ultimately, this document provides an applied pedagogical blueprint and administrative guide for educational researchers, school administrators, and public outreach directors aiming to scale impactful community-entrenched science education.
